Έτοιμο το untethered jailbreak για το 5.1.1

Ο pod2g ανακοίνωσε νωρίτερα πως το untethered jailbreak είναι πλέον ολοκληρωμένο και έτοιμο να δοθεί στην δημοσιότητα πράγμα που θα γίνει μέσα στις επόμενες μέρες η και ώρες όπως χαρακτηριστικά δήλωσε αφού πλέον δεν υπάρχει λόγος να κρατηθεί άλλο μυστικό μια που η Apple "άπλωσε" τα χαρτιά της.

Αυτός που έφτιαξε το crash του iBooks στο iOS 5.

The patch was written by @comex for jailbreakme3, I modified it to make it work with corona.


I've developed this patch on my iPhone 4.
It needs to be adjusted to the other devices and being tested.
Since I do not own an iPad nor an iPod, I cannot do that myself. Hopefully, MuscleNerd will do the rest of the job and will release the package soon.


For xBooks users:
When this fix will be released, the xBooks fix will be obsolete and you'll need to remove it and reinstall iBooks. [via]

Update #4: The b4 version of redsn0w incorporates the 5.0.1 fix for iBooks, and also for sporadic problems with launchctl. Thanks to @xvolks for merging the iBooks (sandbox) fix from @comex’s github into the overall corona untether from @pod2g! [via]

Το jailbreak για το iOS 5.1.1 είναι πιο κοντά από ποτέ με τον @pod2g να ανακοινώνει μέσω του twitter του ότι είναι πια θέμα ημερών να δοθεί στην κυκλοφορία το εργαλείο που περιμένουν όλοι. Σύμφωνα, μάλιστα, με πληροφορίες το untethered jailbreak του iOS 5.1.1 θα ονομάζεται "Absinthe 2.0" και θα κυκλοφορήσει από την γνωστή Chronic dev-team.

Το όνομα, φυσικά, δεν έχει ιδιαίτερη σημασία για τους φίλους του jailbreak αφού αναμένουμε με ιδιαίτερη αγωνία την τελική κυκλοφορία της εφαρμογής. Φυσικά, θα σας ενημερώσουμε με κατάλληλο δημοσίευμα με το που γίνει διαθέσιμο. Μέχρι τότε μείνετε συντονισμένοι.

I’ve confirmed directly with MuscleNerd that a) A CLI version of the 5.1.1 jailbreak will be released, and the iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak will be incorporated directly into RedSn0w as an all inclusive package. As far as time frames go, those are still undetermined.

* All info below is tentative and subject to last minute refinements
* @pod2g's 5.1.1 jailbreak+untether is working out great. All devices are covered except for AppleTV3,1, which currently has no path for jailbreaking.
- the initial 5.1.1 plan used a kernel exploit from @westbaer which unfortunately precluded use in iPod3,1 and iPhone2,1
- @planetbeing stepped up and provided a kernel exploit that covers both of those. Those two JBers are the bomb!
* The 5.1.1 A5 JB is very similar to the A5 5.0.1 JB. @pimskeks has done a tremendous job supporting both 5.0.1 and 5.1.1 in absinthe
* Similar to 5.0.1, there will also be a 5.1.1 CLI "cinject" binary and redsn0w version of the 5.1.1 JB+untether. Absinthe, cinject, and redsn0w will all provide the same JB in different fashions.
- timing is indeterminate. Plans are for this week, but a number of factors can influence that.
