Σχετικά με τα λανθασμένα Notifications που πιθανώς να λάβατε ως χρήστες του ZUS:
Dear ZUS users,
I’m sending you this email to offer you my sincerest apologies if you received faulty ZUS app notifications.
Yesterday at 1PM PST, one of our database servers became overloaded due to increasing user activity. When a few users were trying to connect to another person's ZUS (be it a family member's or a friend's), it caused a notification to go out to a subset of users when it should have just been sent to one person. The issue at hand was a script that kept running, causing the notification to accidentally go out to more than one person due to the database overload. Please rest assured that this was not a breach in security. We’ve tripled checked and we’ve since then fixed the database overload issue and made sure that no future notifications can be sent out accidentally.
To explain, the app notification that some of you received was designed to show up ONLY when person A, for instance, wants to connect to a ZUS charger that person B is already connected to. In this case, person A will send a request to person B via their ZUS app. Person B will receive the following message, which some of you received as a result of a server error: “xxx@xxxx.com wants to use your ZUS. You can share ZUS via Family Share or remove your connection to ZUS.” This notification actually arose not because of the Family Share feature, but because a second user was trying to connect to the same ZUS.
We were planning to formally launch Family Share next week as a surprise. We regret that some of you learned of this new feature for the first time through this accident.
To clear up any concerns or misunderstandings about Family Share, please allow me to explain. First, the Family Share feature was designed to enable several family members to connect to one ZUS such as on family road trips. We created this feature at the request of a lot of users asking us if their spouse or family members can connect to their ZUS and therefore see their car’s parking location.
For those who may be concerned about privacy, please rest assured. We designed this feature with your security foremost in mind. From a technical perspective, the Family Share feature only supports SINGLE way sharing. Only the owner of the ZUS charger can decide with whom they want to share their ZUS and can stop sharing at any time. Non-authorized users cannot access your ZUS without your approval.
Finally, please accept my sincere apologies. As a young startup, we’re trying to provide more value to our users by creating new helpful app features. We regret if we caused you any inconvenience or to feel insecure. We hope that you can give us a second chance. Please feel free to email me directly with any questions/comments.
Best regards,
