We have received several questions about the so called “bubblish effect,” and if we anticipate this problem with our cases on the new Jet Black finish for the Apple 7/7 plus. This is not condensation but rather a strange affect caused by placing an extremely hard, smooth, flat plastic surface on another extremely hard, smooth, flat surface, such as the highly polished anodized aluminum surface of the Jet Black finish. This does not happen on other iPhone surfaces because they are not as smoothly finished. As we said this is not caused by condensation and it does not harm the surface of the iPhone. However you may notice this effect when the case is used on some devices with the Jet Black finish.
Apple’s own website recommends using a case to prevent scratches and abrasions to the highly polished surface of the Jet Black finish. A case, even if it eventually exhibits this effect, is better than no case at all. We are currently working on a solution to this problem but we cannot forecast when it will be resolved. This is not a manufacturing defect and we cannot replace cases causing this effect.
